Developing web based solutions has the advantage that it's easier to collaborate online with your team as opposed to having to use a dedicated computer where the software is installed. With a web based application you can create a secure online network. Individual accounts can be created with user names and passwords and access granted over a standard web browser like Internet Explorer. This makes it easier to maintain, manage and develop the software application. The disadvantage is that you need an internet connection.
